Riding his motorcycle in Hawaii, Sean Jones witnesses the brutal murder of a prosecutor. When the villains come to take out Sean, Agent Nelville Flynn comes to his rescue. In order to protect Sean for the trip back to L.A., Flynn takes over the entire First Class section of Pacific Air Flight 121. Displeased First Class passengers aside, the flight is uneventful until hundreds of angry, poisonous snakes are released into the cabin. Once the snakes begin attacking, it is up to Agent Flynn and Sean to keep the plane in the air and save as many passengers as they can.

Somehow Jackson and the flight attendants must find the means to keep those on board safe and kill the snakes that are threatening their lives, not to mention another unfortunate dilemma facing them..both pilots are bitten by snakes and someone else will have to land the plane! <br/><br/>A disaster movie with CGI snakes that attack a bunch of folks on board a plane with Sammy L working his usual cool/charisma. You are most certainly confident that he&#39;ll find a way to save as many as possible.The snakes bite into a breast nipple, eyeball, penis, throats, buttock, faces, leaving some nasty after-effects such as sores and mouth-foaming. A dog and man are victims of a massive python which wraps around and chokes them before the feeding occurs(..the dog&#39;s fate isn&#39;t elaborated, although the film shows the python swallowing the male victim&#39;s head!) Fun supporting cast add color to the proceedings. Like in a lot of disaster films, we are introduced to the supporting characters before the perilous situation takes place with the release of the snakes which are ultimately antagonized by the pheromones of leis flowers. Featuring characters that mimic cultural archetypes such as Rachel Blanchard as a Paris Hilton wannabe with a dog, IPOD, and Valley Girl looks(..her name is Mercedes)and rap star Three G&#39;s(Flex Alexander)who is a cocky germaphobe with attitude. Lin Shaye has a wonderful role as flight attendant on her last tour, Grace(..one knows her fate when she mentions how she plans to retire after this one last flight). Julianna Margulies is flight attendant Claire, who plans to become a lawyer after this last flight, and is called upon to help Sammy L&#39;s agent Neville Flynn, when the going gets rough. Kenan Thompson lends his usual funny expressions to the character of Troy, Three G&#39;s entourage and high school chum who looks out for him and is asked to land the plane based solely on his video-game expertise! The computer generated snakes aren&#39;t always that convincing, although that&#39;s part of the movie&#39;s charm. Fast-paced thrill-ride that aims to please. The absurd premise just draws you in and it&#39;s up to the filmmakers to sell such an idea as passengers joining together to find a way out of such a difficult situation through a variety of ways..you must take a leap of faith when you see Sammy L killing snakes with a taser gun!
First I have to say I like Samuel L Jackson , but now I won&#39;t be watching movies just because he&#39;s in them I was totally disappointed, this couldn&#39;t be the same actor that was in Pulp Fiction , but yes sad but true.<br/><br/>The script was poor as were the special effects, there was some comic value but I&#39;m not sure if that was what the director had intended,<br/><br/>The part where the oxygen masks drop and the snakes start biting LAME. Maybe one of the writers or the director should have watched a National Geographic special on snakes or any documentary to learn a little more about snakes to make the plot a little more believable , snakes bite inject venom and let go, these were some new pit bull species that the passengers had to pull and pry from their faces. The snakes didn&#39;t even look real, except the shots that used real snakes <br/><br/>I can&#39;t believe this was nominated for an award, whatever a Saturn Award is? And for best Horror film yet. I thought up for a Razzie maybe. But I have seen worse I&#39;m surprised it has such a high rating on IMDb it&#39;s not deserved.<br/><br/>Even Samuel L Jackson cannot save this; I hope they don&#39;t make a sequel not that I will waste my time.
The film failed to be frightening, suspenseful or dramatic but accidentally succeeded in being absolutely hilarious.
While escorting surfer dude Sean Jones (<a href="/name/nm0680667/">Nathan Phillips</a>), witness of a murder committed by notorious gangster Eddie Kim (<a href="/name/nm0493171/">Byron Lawson</a>), on the South Pacific Airlines red-eye flight from Honolulu to Los Angeles, FBI agent Neville Flynn (<a href="/name/nm0000168/">Samuel L. Jackson</a>) is forced to fight off a cargo load of venomous snakes unleashed on the Boeing 747 by Kim and his thugs in order to bring down the plane and prevent Jones from testifying. Snakes on a Plane is based on a screenplay contributed to by writers David J. Taylor, John Heffernan, Sebastian Gutierrez and David Dalessandro. The copilot accidentally releases the oxygen masks in the passenger compartment, and the snakes drop into the cabin with them. Later, Agent Flynn discovers, while crawling into the cargo hold, that a door that separated the compartment from the rest of the plane had been left open. The snakes in the cargo hold have tripped the breaker that controls the air conditioning in the passenger cabin, so Agent Flynn ventures into the hold to rectify the problem (and kill a few more snakes along the way). Meanwhile in L.A., Agent Harris (<a href="/name/nm0134072/">Bobby Cannavale</a>) and Dr Stephen Price (<a href="/name/nm0521974/">Todd Louiso</a>), an expert in venomous snakes, have determined from the photos of the dead snakes that many of them are from foreign countries and, thus, have been illegally imported. They pay a visit to a local snake dealer who has been known for shady dealing in the past. In attempting to flee, the dealer is bitten by a desert black snake, and the agents withhold the antivenom until he tells them how he got the snakes for Eddie Kim and made them super aggressive by spraying pheromones on the passengers&#39; leis. They then take his anti-venom supplies to LAX so that it will be available when the plane lands. Just when it looks hopeful that things are going to work out, it is discovered that the cockpit is filled with snakes and that the co-pilot is dead. There is no one to land the plane, so flight attendant Claire (<a href="/name/nm0000523/">Julianna Margulies</a>) asks the passengers if anyone can fly the plane. The only one with any flight experience, over 2,000 hours on his PlayStation 2 flight simulator, is Troy (<a href="/name/nm0860380/">Kenan Thompson</a>), an old friend and bodyguard to rapper Three Gs (<a href="/name/nm0018416/">Flex Alexander</a>). In order to clear the cockpit of snakes, Flynn instructs the passengers to secure themselves in their seats. He then shoots a hole in one of the cabin windows, causing the cabin to depressurize and sucking out all the snakes. When the snakes have been cleared from the cockpit, Troy takes over the controls and successfully lands the plane at LAX where anti-venom is immediately given to those who have been bitten. However, just as Sean and Flynn are about to deplane, Sean is bitten in the chest by a snake. Flynn shoots the snake, and Sean opens his shirt to reveal a bulletproof vest. Sean reminds Flynn of the first thing Flynn told him: &quot;Do as I say, and you live,&quot; and turns the tables. In the final scene, Sean is instructing Flynn on how to surf. According to Wikipedia, such a hole would merely generate a high-pitched squeal. However, if they somehow managed to make a much larger hole, the plane could be depressurized in less than a second. He apparently did. Jackson signed on simply for the title, &quot;Snakes on a Plane&quot; and, when New Line said they might change it, Jackson supposedly threatened to leave the film. He had stated that he loved the title because &quot;it tells you exactly what the movie is about. So you know what you&#39;re going to see.&quot; 68% of critics liked the film according to RottenTomatoes, with an average score of 6.2 out of 10, meaning it has generally favorable reviews. Most people expected that the critics would hate the film, but, in the end, it received more positive reviews than bad ones. Yes. There was immense Internet hype over the film mainly because of its title and lots of users rated it a &quot;10&quot; without even seeing it. The film&#39;s user rating was originally 8.4, before dropping after more people had seen it.
